Another potential addition (albeit slightly unusual!) to the map: the coffee stand 'Espressamente' outside Euston station. Great coffee (they use Illy beans) made quickly by friendly staff to help wake you up for journeys into the West Midlands!!
Fantastic! I love this map and your blog, Rob. As a fellow Aussie expat I understand your coffee search.
I can suggest a few Shoreditch additions if you're feeling intrepid. Trek to the Bethnal Green Rd end of Brick Lane and you'll see several excellent coffee places (opposite on Bethnal Green Rd is Franze and Evans which is also good).
For when the snow melts: The Pavillion cafe in Victoria park serves brilliant coffee, with lake and duck views included... worth the tubelessness.
Thanks Marianne! I actually made the trek to Columbia Rd to try out Taste of Bitter Love between Christmas and NY but it was closed. Will definitely go back and add your recommendations to my list - a coffee pilgrimage if you will! Thanks for your comments.
Cool Map. Leila's in Shoreditch is also a good coffee spot on a par with some of your Soho favs - check out the ginger cake if you go! I'm yet to find a really great one in Notting Hill unfortunately - let me know if you find one.
An expat Aussie 15 years into a love affair with London, I decided to record some of the reasons I dig this city, with a key theme being the search for good coffee & food. Random musings with hopefully some appeal or use - if not, at least I'm having fun writing them! Enjoy.
What about extending further out into Zone !? There must be some good spots in Notting Hill or Shoreditch?

ReplyDeleteThanks Ben - I'l check it out and see if it's "map worthy"! Will also try and broaden my reach beyond Soho/Fitzrovia/Bloomsbury.

ReplyDeleteThe Counter... way out there in Hackney Wick is another Antipodean bit of brilliance.

ReplyDeleteLove the map! I find it useful in my visits to London, and appreciate the loving promotion to excellent espresso & cofee in general.
ReplyDeleteSuggestion: Can you expand the size of the map's window, so that it displays more pixels and I can see more than a small window of London?
There's also this map that is regularly updated

Worth comparing
Thanks Glenn - there can never be too many coffee maps!
ReplyDeleteGood work. Grace at 8 Creed Lane is another pin for the map... A good brew in a sea of City mediocrity.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip - will check it out next week.
